The Wedding of Jean Lassiter and Yusun Kolb

Talking quietly in the garden beforehand.

The exchanging of rings.

Married!

Cutting the cake

There was quite a turnout.

Rickard tearing up the dance floor. Jean and Yusun took a more subdued approach.

Leftover cake. Also who invited the barbarian who left their cake ON THE GROUND?!

A beautiful night for two beautiful Sims.

Marrying the Princess

I didn't think she would go through with it. I don't think Fedaykin did either.

Almost Halfway There

So, I feel like a slacker. Lots of things have happened in the legacy house. So much so, I'm not quite sure where to start.

Well, let's see. JC turned out to be a much better husband (and father!) than I thought he would. He stuck with his job as a police officer, and eventually was promoted into the detective/spy branch, just like he wanted. For a while, he actually looked kind of dashing in his uniform. He cut his hair, was constantly working out, and kept a pretty good income coming in.

Sybil had two children, Celandine and Warden. Both of them got the hereditary blonde hair with the red tips that's been in the family for a good many generations now in some form or another. Celandine, the eldest, got the genetic marker as well, which made me happy. Warden didn't, getting his father's blue/grey eyes instead, which was also fine by me, since technically he's not really important for the legacy. Not yet, anyways.

Both children grew up in boarding school, which made it easier to manage the house in the elder days of Virgil and Mary, while JC was working so hard to rise in the ranks of the precinct and Sybil was being.... Sybil. Training horses, I think. She was kind of lazy, actually.

But then Celandine and Warden came home from boarding school, all grown up and ready to be productive. Celandine fell in love almost instantly with the family butler, Rian Bates, and they were soon engaged. Probably one of the most romantic engagements I've ever seen in my Sims games. Made me smile.

They had a simple, private ceremony, and she was pregnant soon after. I am so glad Sims never have to deal with fertility issues. She had a son, whom I named Fedaykin (had Dune on the brain, no regrets), who has his dad's black hair and darker skin, but still has those yellow eyes. An interesting mix, and if he gets his dad's cheekbones I'll be happy.

Warden managed to seduce the alien who kept hanging around the house, and after a while they too were married, and Vofura had a daughter with Warden whom I named Tan-loc. Not sure where it came from, but it sounded like something an alien would be named.

I may have tinkered with her skin tone a bit. Just don't like that green skin. Wanted her to come from a warmer planet. The baby doesn't look half bad though.

In the end, Fedaykin and Tan-loc are so far the sole members of Generation 9 - and then it will be 10 coming up before I know it.

It's all downhill from there, they say. Please don't glitch out.

It's Not a Party Unless Someone Dies

So to celebrate her engagement to JC, Sybil really really wanted to have a bachelorette party. This was a feature introduced in the Generations expac which I hadn't  tried yet, so I gave it a shot, for curiousity's sake. I invited her aunts and any other young females she was more than moderately acquainted with, and they all went to the bar owned by JC. Turns out he was working there that night, so that was a bit ... awkward. Not that Sybil was planning on doing anything unsavory or unfaithful, mind you, it just put that nagging feeling of being watched in everyone's mind. "Don't get too crazy, the groom's watching!"

But he wasn't paying any attention, engrossed as he was in washing the dirty glasses. I couldn't get over his outfit though.  That sense of style.... if it can be called that - I will never get over it. Poor man. Or maybe, poor everyone else and he's just a fashion genius. I still don't know exactly what material that suit was supposed to be made out of. It was nice to see him trying to be a productive member of society though, instead of just lazing about.

Regardless, everyone showed up, even a bunch of women she hadn't invited, and the bouncer decided she'd rather play foosball than guard the door, so all sorts of women were there jumping around and giving toasts to Sybil and her future with the bartender. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, and then I got the notification that the 'Male Cowboy Dancers' had arrived. Oh boy. Who asked for them? I was afraid things would get ugly, what with JC downstairs mixing drinks while Sybil slow-danced with the cowboy, but no one seemed to care much, much to my surprise. Perhaps JC knew there was nothing harmful to it? Still, I don't know. All I know is when JC and Sybil try to slow-dance, they do nothing but step on each other's toes. This guy was a dancing master and had her spinning in circles, bending backwards, all sorts of things. All while hip-hop blared through the bar's sound system. It was quite the juxtaposition.

And while I may have complained about JC's outfit of choice, Sybil's surprised me. I had designed a nice little party dress, thinking I could get her to wear that to the party, but as soon as it officially started and her guests started showing up, she changed into this short little number and I was so surprised I let her keep it instead of forcing her back to the outfit I had planned. Huh, the way this game works sometimes if I had tried to change her clothes back that would have probably somehow ended the party and everyone would have left five minutes after they had shown up.

Apparently, my legacy family cannot have a party without someone dying. It's happened three times now, no matter where the party is held, one of the guests always decides to die. I've no idea who it was this time, all I know is everyone was upstairs dancing, even JC, when all of a sudden someone decided the dance floor was the best place to go. Everyone was quite shocked, and the look on the dancer's face in the back made me giggle. He looked so sad.

JC looked pretty upset too, and if this had been a game with more real world problems, I can imagine him thinking "Oh I hope I don't get sued for this..." I mean, the whole town knowing that someone died  at your bar isn't exactly the best advertisement. Unless he redoes the whole design of it in a dark gothic look, and then it can be a 'haunted' bar. I wonder if I could mover some of the remains from the cemetery over so that some ghosts might decide to hang out? Or is that sacrilegious, to exhume and move remains simply to add atmosphere to a bar? Might drum up business a bit. Hmm. Not a bad idea......

The Grim Reaper showed up and collected her, whoever she was, and everyone soon went back to partying, despite some lingering bad moodlets. But the despair didn't last for long, and soon everyone fine, dancing and chatting and toting their drinks around. I thought the party was going really well, minus the death, of course (but you can't help everything). I was hoping the whole time that despite the death the guests would think it had been a great party since that was Sybil's wish at the moment - for everyone to have a good time. I wonder if the woman who died had fun?

Anyway, they ended the night with JC spraying Sybil with a bottle of champagne. Sometimes I love the facial expressions in this game, and JC's in this pic is priceless. He's having so much fun ruining her dress.

The next morning, which coincidentally was Valentine's Day (or Love Day as it's called in the game), Sybil and JC ran off to the nearby beach to get married in a small private ceremony at dawn, but it started hailing (silly unpredictable spring weather) and they were forced to retreat to the nearby covered shelter to finish the ceremony.

She's pregnant by now, and I'm waiting to see what the little bundle of genetics looks like this time. I'm hoping it's a boy so that I can name him Perrin in honor of the golden gene-marker I've managed to keep in the bloodline thus far, but we'll see. That is, assuming he has the marker. Sometimes it skips a generation or so.

Yes, he really did wear that to the wedding. I had to giggle.

Mary Mary, Fey and Fairie

So Virgil finally worked up the nerve to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Mary. He picked a super romantic place to do it, too - in her grandmother's kitchen. Glad she said yes, now it's on with the wedding planning and forward to the next generation! I'm beginning to wonder about this girl, but more on her later.... I'm just not sure she's as top notch as some of the other spousal choices have been.

And how did this happen, you ask, when just the other day I announced how the house was full and there was no room for Mary? Well, about that - Virgil's parents, Aegon and Jodie have gotten divorced and Jodie moved out, taking most of the children with her. Apparently the stress of all those children in the house was too much for Aegon, who basically tossed her out with nothing. Unfortunately it seems he's got more of his father in him than Lily would have liked to see. Here's hoping Jodie's okay.

Virgil and Caesar stayed behind, but Jodie took Caesar's twin sister Sol, and the grade school-aged triplets Ash, Cypress, and Willow with her. Jodie got a house just up the hill, overlooking the legacy house, actually just next door to Aegon's brother Aemon's house. Not sure if the game does that by default, or if that was the only house in the game large enough to hold all those kidlets.

Virgil and Mary had a small wedding on the back patio, by the pool, and I was a bit put off that she didn't even have the decency to wear a dress. What kind of wild child have I brought into the Morel family?

Generation Five

Letting off steam.
Pascal and Aegon both took it rough when Mio died. It was just the two of them now - a very old man and a young teenager with a lot of grief and anger. Aegon had barely known his mother, Lily, who died when he was very young. He had never even met his biological father Rahad, and his step-father, Davon, walked out almost before Lily's body was cold and in the ground. It was left to Pascal and Mio, his grandparents, to raise the young boy, and when Mio passed away after 97 wonderful, full days, Pascal and Aegon suddenly found themselves alone in a very big house.

Father and son, but no family resemblance.

Pascal tried to be as much of a father figure to the boy as he could, and one of their favorite stress-relievers was to spar together. He let Aegon try whatever hobby he wanted to put his hand to - whether it was photography (he let the boy have his old camera from France), training the new foals (the last Mio had worked to breed out of her racing horses before she died), music, or sports. Aegon tried almost everything, and while he could accomplish almost anything he put his hand to, nothing seemed to help. He even tried meeting his biological father in the park one day, just to talk, but it didn't go well. Rashad had no interest in being a father to Aegon, who looked so much like his mother. Did Rashad even remember Lily, or was she just another in a long line of conquests? Aegon didn't know, and didn't bother to ask. The meeting probably raised more questions for him than it answered. At least he managed to keep up an awkward friendship with his half-brother, Aemon. They studied together a few times after school, and they were in the same class, but there was little more to it than that. Davon was nowhere to be seen.

Aegon did well in school, and his hobbies narrowed over time to photography and painting. Artistic talent seems to run in the family. Due to the great success of the family over the years, they were now considered the 'old money' of the city of Appaloosa and Aegon was never pressured to get a job during high school. He considered it, but soon someone came along to distract him from any thoughts of money or careers.

The perfect wedding.

Jodie. Aegon knew instantly that she was the girl for him, with her fiery hair and infectious smile - but would she accept him? They struck up a friendship, and after moving past the awkward teenage years, one happy day after they had both graduated from highschool, she agreed to marry him.  They were young and in love, and had a beautiful moonlit wedding in a pavilion by the beach. He had found his happiness, and she had found safety with the Morels, after her parents had tragically been infected with vampirism. Now they have a young son, Virgil, who has his father's eyes and his mother's red hair, and the future is wide open for him, the next generation in this family saga.

Pascal watches the whole story with pride, knowing his grandson has matured into a fine young man, proving that, where sims are concerned at least, how a man behaves is entirely up to him, and not the decisions made by those before him. Who knows what will happen for Virgil, the sixth in a long string of sims, and hopefully the predecessor of many more in the days to come?

I'm wondering how long it will be before Pascal finally dies. He's almost 110 now - an unheard of age for a sim set to a normal lifespan.

A Simlish Wedding

Yes, I know I haven't posted in a while. Yes, I know no one cares but me.

I've been on a Sims 3 kick lately, maybe because of the new expansion coming out May 23rd, I dunno. Anyways, I have my sim Felurian and her boyfriend Yves, who she met in France. Yeah. I had no idea how accomplished he was when I put them together, but suddenly I realize he's a master cook and gardener and nectar-maker (read, he makes his own wine!) and he can play the piano and ..... swoon. So they fell in love, naturally. It was quite easy. All while she was on vacation in Champs les Sims.

Then, before she had to leave France, they had a fight and broke up. But when she got home, Felurian missed him, so she invited him to visit her, and suddenly, they were getting a long great - so well, in fact, that he moved in with her and never went back to France. Then he planted a garden in her backyard and started making wine in the basement, so I figured, hey, why not get engaged? So they did, and then they started planning their wedding ( <--- read: I started planning their wedding and scouting locations. This would be the first time I had had a real wedding for my Sims, with decorations and guests and whatnot. Every other couple before that had always had private weddings at home).

They had a big fancy wedding at the amphitheater in the park, and I managed to catch some interesting moments. I watched the whole thing with glee, I will assure you :)

This public wedding thing was fun, especially since Yves is a three-star celebrity so there were paparazzi snapping pics everywhere. It felt all glizty and very romantic.
The exchanging of rings.

The set up for the wedding. Most of the guests were on the dance floor at this point.

I chose the amphitheater for the wedding because it seemed like a romantic, quiet location. In retrospect, those descending tiers made it impossible to get good shots in or really set up decorations the way I wanted. The next wedding I have I will have to find a better spot - maybe the beach ^_^

Speaking of dancing, from the caption on the previous pic, here are the guests and the happy couple getting down and having a blast. Check out those back-bends Felurian can do. Show-off. Somebody's a bit too limber. Must be all that nectar.

Oh, and I finally figured out how to capture sound in Sims videos! Hooray! No idea what the song was, but it was catchy.
The bartender for the night was horribly deformed and ugly.

I hired a mixologist (bartender) for the night to help keep the guests happy, and they sure kept her busy. I think half the business came from the bride herself. Apparently, Yves' wine must have spoiled her.
At the end of the party, one last kiss before they head home.

I set up an 'altar' with candles and flowers, the effect was, for the most part, lost during the wedding while the sun was up, but once it got dark it looked rather.... well i was going to say charming, but now that I look at it it almost looks like something from a shrine.

Someone was in such a hurry to get home she didn't even wait for the taxi.
This is where the camera pans away.....
